Our Story

The First Trip to Guatemala

My first trip to Guatemala was filled with both excitement and trepidation. What I discovered was a culture of generosity, hospitality, strong family values, and a deep desire to provide. The mothers there are incredibly dedicated, strong, and immensely involved in their children's lives. They exhibit remarkable heroism, walking miles for food and carrying their groceries home on their heads.

Witnessing such strength and love had a profound impact on me. I returned home with a heavy heart, filled with a desire to serve this community of mothers.

With the help of Americans who have been serving for years and the mothers of a rural village, we are now working together to provide jobs for mothers in this village. The women are earning more than fair wages, enabling them to feed and educate their children.

Our dream is to expand and provide training to more women, so that we can have a greater impact on the lives of these families.

Inspired by Women

Our story begins with a trip to Guatemala. There we met two incredible women—mothers and seamstresses—who were working to make leather bags in a rural village. After placing and receiving an order from these women, we were blown away by the quality their work and inspired by the pride behind it. From there, relationships were built and a small business idea began to take the shape of a hopeful, aspirational future.

Falling in Love With Guatemala

They say Guatemala is the Land of the Eternal Spring, and it's easy to see why. The warm sun and teeming landscape create a place of beauty that is hard to describe. However, it can also be a land of extreme poverty where resources can be devastatingly hard to come by. Single motherhood is a crisis in the villages of rural Guatemala, and women who are desperate to provide for their families often fall victim to modern slavery. This business was founded to train single moms to use their God-given, generationally passed down talents to create high-quality products. Women once without safe or purposeful employment are now earning a living wage and benefit from health insurance and bonuses. Job creation is our purpose, your purchase simply sustains that.
